welcome to my blog

[title transcription: “welcome to my blog”. end transcription.]

my name is prilla! my main pronouns are fawn/fawns and my aux pronouns (pronouns you can use for me if you’re unable to use neopronouns) are they/them. i’m twenty.

most of my blog is reblogs of pretty pictures/drawings, occasional positivity/reminders, as well as informative posts i want to share, and some silly posts n other random stuff!

i try to make sure posts that have images/gifs/videos/audio are described, and that posts with a lot of bold/italics/small text have transcriptions. my older posts don’t have this and i have done image descriptions in inaccessible ways before (like in italics). i’ve updated some of these posts but haven’t been able to fix all of them, but my new posts should be okay when it comes to that stuff. i also try to add trigger warning tags and warnings for flashing.

here’s a post with what the emojis i tag posts with mean (not that it really matters, they’re just for my own organisation) + how i tag trigger warnings and flashing and stuff.

i try to block any bigots i see interacting with me. please don’t interact if you’re blog is nsfw/kink (nothing against it just makes me uncomfy).

"neckbeards" are a common facial hair pattern for people with PCOS and hirsutism and people who go on T and people who have a lot of weight on their face. It is not funny or cool or based to use physical features as a moral attack, and especially not when it's a common feature of intersex people and trans people and fat people and countless other types of people who society already mocks.

What?? Neckbeards are made fun of because they are too lazy to shave properly..

the fact that you see that as some sort of moral detriment is exactly the problem. Who the fuck cares what someone does with their facial hair, why does the way someone's hair grows naturally need to change. Terrible take. Get lost.

screenshot of tags that say "#you have a point but how else can i make fun of creepy cishet “nice guys”#i sound horrible but i’ve dealt with them irl"ALT

for their behavior??? not their appearance??? it's pretty simple.

Every time you target physical "flaws" to mock, you need to know that you're doing this because society has trained you to equate beauty with goodness and ugliness with degeneracy and immorality.

If you can't do the work to unpack these lazy but DEEPLY ingrained associations you will literally never achieve any kind of positive change in society.

The reason you target these traits is because society still largely agrees across the board that physical appearance is acceptable to mock. It's a target that you can be assured that the target of your ire is probably actually sensitive about on some level (or you perceive it to be that) and so you choose cruelty.

The reason you don't default to behavior is that you know it's not an instant win. You already know that a person who has chosen some loathesome idealogy probably doesn't value the things you do. So you can't actually shame them for their world view because "not caring" is baked into it. And thus...retreating to the cowards position: attempting to win via exploiting a known vulnerability, even though doing so runs counter to the values you claim to espouse.

I went looking for what organizations are on the front line trying to provide relief for the communities affected by the horrible wildfire in Maui and found this excellent article.

Not only does it list local groups that are currently already giving aid, but also what they are looking for besides monetary donations such as food and toiletries.

I don't know what our government is doing to help if at all (I'm not getting my hopes up 🙄) so let's let the people of Hawaii know someone cares about what they are going through.

I found this carrd that was set up to help people find places to donate and send support for those affected by the fires in Maui

Aloha Kākou - Putting this out here again. I’ve created this site to consolidate links in one place to make it easier for folks to find what they’re looking for - both for those affected and for those who want to help Link: https://t.co/w2Gv0gTYUh pic.twitter.com/HGgAZurmc6 — ren • MĀLAMA MAUI 🤍 (@renmaicha) August 11, 2023ALT

there are spreadsheets with ways to directly donate to those affected, donate supplies, to different organizations and resources for residents

the creator has been updating it and has contact info if you would like to get anything added to it since it is not a comprehensive list!

Train and stained glass, what more do you need
